I Went On a Shopping Spree!

A few weeks ago, I went on a little ~shopping spree~! Keep reading to find out exactly what I bought, and how much I spent!

Towards the end of February, I finally started funding my ~new~ brokerage account (that I swapped with my old General Investing 2 account – RIP!).

The reason I opened this new account was to start experimenting with different types of investing strategies.

(And I already had a pretty good start!)

While I only just started (and haven’t even contributed anything to it since lol), I’m super excited to grow this new brokerage account and diversify my assets even further.

So, with that being said….

I purchased my very first shares of individual stocks!

If you follow me on Instagram, then you might know I’m a BIG index funds and ETFs girl.

So this was definitely a different investment for me.

I used to avoid this type of investment because I didn’t really know how to do the proper ~due diligence~ before investing.

But then I realized that was a limiting belief and that I was capable of this!

So I’m not going to get into the HOW or the WHY that I picked the stocks I did (since I’m not a financial advisor lol).

But I will show you the stocks I bought.

Quick obligatory disclaimer: I am not a financial advisor, so none of this should be taken as advice. Investing is a risk, and you need to do research before investing in anything.

So here goes:

Here’s a visual of what I bought! (from my brokerage account)

First I bought 50 shares of Verizon (VZ) to add to my new portfolio of individual dividend stocks.

I spent nearly $2,000 on my shares, and I am planning on adding more to my portfolio soon. I may also start experimenting with trading options once I have more shares.

Then I bought 100 shares of Annaly Capital Management (NLY), a REIT dividend stock, and spent over $2,000 on these shares.

I’m very excited to start building a new portfolio with new assets, especially since these are dividend-paying stocks, which will increase my dividend payouts each quarter!

I will be updating you all here and on Instagram as I build out this new account, and especially once I start earning money from options and dividends!
